How to Set Up Vinted Shipping So You Never Need a Printer

You don't need a printer for most Vinted UK postage. Only Royal Mail's postbox-sized Large Letter tier always needs a printed label, going by the label emails Vinted sends. InPost and Evri let you pick a QR label instead, and Royal Mail parcels, DPD Pickup and Relay give you a QR code. Switch Large Letter off, choose QR when asked, and you're printer-free.

Vinted's help centre also lists DHL Express and AnyVan. AnyVan is for big items (up to 300 × 200 × 90 cm, 80 kg). DHL Express handles everyday parcels up to 120 × 60 × 60 cm: courier pick-up needs a printed label, but at a DHL Express drop-off point you can use a digital label.

How shipping labels work on Vinted
When a buyer purchases your item, Vinted generates a prepaid shipping label and makes it available in your app. You don't pay for postage upfront — the buyer covers it at checkout. You then either print the label or show a QR code on your phone at the drop-off point, depending on which option the buyer chose and, for some options, which label type you pick.
The key thing to understand: you choose which options to make available in Profile → Settings → Postage. The buyer then picks from your enabled options at checkout. If you want to sell without a printer, switch off the two that only ever issue a printed label, and know which of the rest let you choose.
The option that always needs a printer, and one to check
Royal Mail Large Letter (the "postboxable" tier)
This is Royal Mail's smallest tier on Vinted, for flat items: up to 35 × 25 × 2.5 cm and 500 g, according to the label emails Vinted sends. It's the only Royal Mail tier you're allowed to drop in a postbox — which is handy — but the label has to be printed and attached to the parcel. There's no QR version.
That 2.5 cm depth is the limit that catches people. Folded lightweight t-shirts, thin scarves, socks and flat accessories can fit; hoodies, knitwear, jeans, trainers and structured bags won't. Measure before it goes in the bag.
Vinted's help centre no longer describes this tier, but the label emails it sends still do. If you don't have a printer, switch it off.
InPost Home Delivery
InPost Home Delivery (where the parcel goes to the buyer's door rather than a locker) is a separate option from the InPost locker and shop service, though you still drop it off at an InPost locker or shop. Vinted's help centre describes the same printable-or-QR choice for both services, but some sellers have had a print-only Home Delivery label. Check the label screen before you choose; if it offers no QR option, switch Home Delivery off.
The options where you choose the label
InPost 24/7 Locker and Shop Pick-up (and Home Delivery)
When the label is generated, Vinted lets you choose a printable label or a digital label, which is a QR code. Choose the QR code, take it to an InPost locker or shop, scan it, and drop the parcel off. For the locker and shop service, the label emails give two sizes: up to 64 × 38 × 8 cm at 500 g, and up to 64 × 38 × 19 cm at 1 kg.
Evri ParcelShop
Evri works the same way: you can choose a printed or a QR label, so choose QR. You can drop off at an Evri ParcelShop or an Evri locker. Vinted says most ParcelShops have a "Print In Store" device, but not all, so check the drop-off point before you go.
This choice is the step most "no printer" advice misses. If you tap through on autopilot and pick the printable label, you've given yourself a printing job you didn't need.
The options that give you a QR code
Royal Mail parcels
Standard Royal Mail parcels on Vinted come with a digital QR label — Vinted's instructions say there's no need to print it. Take it to a parcel shop, Post Office or locker, and scan the code or show it to the staff, who print the label. Don't use a postbox for a Royal Mail parcel: Vinted's help centre says a parcel put in a Royal Mail postbox can't be registered, won't be delivered, and no compensation will be offered. Only the Large Letter tier above can go in one.
DPD Pickup
DPD Pickup gives you a QR code, and staff at the shop print the shipping label for you. Vinted's DPD page describes it as shipping from parcel shop to parcel shop; it doesn't mention lockers. DPD isn't available in the Channel Islands, the Scottish Islands and Highlands, Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man.
Relay
Relay gives you a QR code and staff at the drop-off point print the label. When you press "Get shipping label", Vinted's map shows every Relay location you can use. Vinted only offers it in selected regions — see the separate guide on what Relay is.
Recommended settings for printer-free selling
Switch off: Royal Mail Large Letter, and InPost Home Delivery if its label screen offers no QR option.
Keep on: Royal Mail parcels, InPost 24/7 Locker / Shop Pick-up, Evri ParcelShop, DPD Pickup, and Relay if Vinted offers it where you are.
When the label is generated: for InPost and Evri, choose the digital (QR) label. For DHL Express, drop off at a DHL Express point rather than booking a courier pick-up.
Three things Vinted's help centre says about the postage settings screen, in plain words:
- Some options can't be switched off.
- An option you've switched off can still appear at checkout if it's the only way a buyer can complete the purchase — so it's worth knowing what to do with every option, not just the ones you've left on. If that happens and you can't ship with that courier, Vinted says you can cancel the order without negative feedback.
- Changes only apply to future orders, not items that have already sold.
Can I sell on Vinted without a printer?
Yes. Most Vinted UK postage options can give you a QR code to show at the drop-off point instead of a printed label. Only Royal Mail's postbox-sized Large Letter tier always needs printing. One final tip on postage settings
Enabling more options gives buyers more choice at checkout, which is generally a good thing — buyers often pick based on what's most convenient for them, and more options means fewer reasons not to buy. Just make sure every option you've enabled is actually one you can use. An enabled option you can't get to is a listing that sells and then can't be shipped.
