Selling on Vinted Across Borders: Australia Yes, the US Mostly No, and How It Works

Yes, to Australia. Once your account is part of Vinted's rollout, buyers in Australia can buy your UK listings automatically; buyers in the United States can't, with limited exceptions, Vinted's policy says. There's no setting to switch international selling on, and no setting to switch it off. Europe isn't part of it. Vinted is rolling the connection out gradually, so not every member is included yet.
For most sellers that's good news. An item that isn't moving in the UK is in front of a bigger pool of buyers without you doing anything different.
Can you sell internationally on Vinted UK?
Yes to Australia, and only in limited cases to the US; not to Europe. Once your account is part of Vinted's international connection, which Vinted is rolling out gradually, buyers in Australia can buy your listings. Vinted's International transactions policy says US buyers can't buy from UK sellers, with limited exceptions, and UK–US trading is limited to some US states. There's no setting to switch on. Items must weigh 2kg or less.
The US limit is recent. Vinted's policy page didn't carry it in early September 2026 and did by mid-October, so older advice, including ours, may say US buyers can buy.
Vinted doesn't run one global marketplace; it operates separate country and regional markets, and its international sales page lists exactly two connections for the UK: the US and Australia.
Vinted says it plans to expand coverage in future. If you're in the connection, you'll have access to both domestic and international items as a buyer, and your listings can be bought from abroad as a seller.
Vinted says buyers pay in their local currency and sellers receive their earnings in theirs, so you're paid in pounds.
Is Vinted UK only?
No, but it's close. Vinted UK is its own market, and Vinted is gradually connecting it to the US and Australia. Buyers in Australia can buy UK listings, and UK buyers can buy from both; US buyers can't buy from UK sellers, with limited exceptions. Its international sales page lists only those two connections, so buyers in Europe can't buy from Vinted UK.
Can I sell to Europe from Vinted UK?
No. Vinted's international sales page lists only two connections for UK members, the US and Australia, so a buyer in France, Germany or elsewhere in Europe can't buy a UK seller's listing, and UK buyers can't buy theirs.
This is the part that trips people up. A German buyer can't currently see or buy a UK seller's listing, and the same is true the other way round. If you're picturing "cross-border" as reaching European buyers, that's not what's available to UK sellers right now.
Can I turn off international sales on Vinted?
No. Vinted's help centre says there is currently no option to disable or filter out international listings. Whether an item can be bought from abroad depends on Vinted's own rules (2kg or less, a value limit for Australia, and carrier restrictions), not on a setting.

What can you sell to the US and Australia?
Most items allowed on Vinted can be sold abroad, within these limits:
- Weight: 2kg or less, for both the US and Australia.
- Value, UK to Australia: less than A$920 per item or bundle, not counting the Vinted fee, shipping and GST.
- UK to the US: Vinted's International transactions policy says "US buyers can’t purchase items from UK sellers, with limited exceptions", and that UK–US transactions are limited to some US states. Its international sales page lists no value cap for this direction; the caps it lists are for items coming the other way (under £120 from the US to the UK, under £110 from Australia to the UK).
- Prohibited items: each corridor has its own list of items the carriers won't take. Vinted asks sellers to check its International transactions policy before selling abroad; an illegal or prohibited item can be seized by customs.
How it works when an item sells abroad
From your side, it's almost identical to any other Vinted sale. Vinted says there are no extra steps when you trade internationally, and the customs process is handled for you.
You pack the item. Vinted gives you a pre-generated label to attach to the parcel, and you drop it off as usual. (The help page describes this as a label you attach; it doesn't mention a QR-code option for international parcels.) Vinted's shipping partners for that corridor take it from there and route it into the buyer's country's delivery network. For Australia, Vinted names Australia Post's rules on what can't be sent.
Vinted says international delivery usually takes 5–8 business days to the US and 5–10 business days to Australia, so expect to wait longer for the buyer to confirm receipt than you would for a UK sale.
How long does international shipping take on Vinted UK?
Vinted says international parcels usually take 5 to 8 business days to the US and 5 to 10 business days to Australia. You attach the pre-generated label Vinted gives you and drop the parcel off as usual; customs is handled for you.
What about postage and fees?
Cross-border postage is typically more expensive than domestic postage, and the buyer pays it at checkout. Vinted shows buyers all the costs at checkout, so they know exactly what they're paying before they commit. International buyers pay the same Buyer Protection fee as domestic ones.
From your perspective as a seller, your payout is unchanged. You list at whatever price you choose, the buyer pays postage on top, and you receive your listing price (there are no seller fees on Vinted, domestic or international). Earnings from an international sale land in your Vinted Balance in pounds and can be withdrawn as usual.
The implication is that your listing price needs to make sense for international buyers who are also paying cross-border postage on top. A UK buyer and an Australian buyer seeing the same item at the same listing price are not in identical positions; the international buyer is paying meaningfully more in total. Whether that's still good value to them depends on how hard the item is to find in their own market, and how desirable it is.
When international buyers actually help you
The practical value of cross-border selling is most obvious in specific situations.
Items with strong demand in other markets. Certain British heritage brands travel well: Barbour, a proper Harris Tweed piece, distinctly British vintage. Australia's secondhand market has real appetite for that kind of thing that doesn't always show up in UK demand. A genuinely vintage tweed jacket might sit on Vinted UK for months; an Australian buyer with a specific interest in British heritage clothing might be actively searching for exactly that.
Items that aren't moving locally. If a listing has sat for a few weeks without a sale and you've refreshed it a couple of times, the issue might not be the item or the price. It might be that the UK buyer looking for that specific thing just isn't on Vinted right now. If your account is in the international connection, that listing is already visible to a larger pool, with nothing for you to change. That doesn't guarantee a sale, but it increases the chances.
Items where the UK secondhand supply is high. A very common item, such as a widely-worn North Face model in a popular size, might face a lot of competition in UK search results. The same item might face meaningfully less competition in Australia, where Vinted's seller base (and therefore the supply of that exact item) is still much smaller. Cross-border selling is an indirect way of reaching markets where your supply-demand ratio is different.
What you don't need to worry about
Customs. Vinted says the customs process is handled for you, with no extra steps.
Currency. Buyers pay in their local currency; you're paid in pounds. Vinted's payment provider handles the conversion and applies a 1.2% currency conversion fee to USD↔GBP and AUD↔GBP transactions.
Language. You write your listing in English as usual. Vinted lists no extra steps for international sales.
Different shipping process. You attach the label Vinted generates and drop off as you would for any Vinted sale. The international routing happens after your parcel enters the courier network.
A note on pricing for international buyers
The pricing guidance that applies to domestic selling applies here too, perhaps more so. International buyers are choosing your listing from a pool that may include similar items in their home market. If your price is significantly higher than local equivalents, they'll choose locally. If it's competitive, and the item itself is genuinely good, the international buyer pool is an asset.
Getting the price right starts with knowing what your item is actually worth in the UK secondhand market, which is still the primary reference point. International selling on Vinted UK needs nothing from you: there's no setting to turn on, and none to turn off. What's worth your time is pricing with the bigger audience in mind, particularly for items that have been sitting for a while or that have a specific appeal beyond the UK market.
