Why platform fees matter
Not all resale platforms work the same way. Some — like Vestiaire Collective and Hardly Ever Worn It — take a commission from you, the seller. Others — like Vinted, Depop and eBay — charge the buyer a protection fee on top of your asking price. eBay private sellers now pay nothing at all: the fee sits entirely with the buyer.
That difference matters in two ways. First, how much lands in your pocket after a sale. Second, how competitive your listing looks to buyers — a £50 item costs a Vinted buyer £53.20 and an eBay buyer around £52, while on a seller-commission platform they pay exactly your £50 and the fee comes out of your side.
This calculator shows you both numbers so you can make a smarter call before you list. The difference between platforms on a £100 sale can easily be £15+ in your pocket.
Worthmore keeps these figures up to date so you don't have to hunt through platform help pages every time fees change.
